Actually, if it weren't for all us losers posting meaningless drivel, the few posts that are insightful wouldn't be special.

It is my job to lower the standard so that the truely average may feel somewhat special.

lurker, but trying to start posting more. Seems to add credibility when your selling.

Well, to answer the initial question first, I "ghost" a lot more than post. In fact I spend an inordinate amount of time on this site.

As far as what motivates me to post, that comes in three variations
First is if I want to know(or think I do)the answer to a query and no one else has posted it yet. Along this line I'll sometimes come forth with a post that backs up another poster who I agree with.
Second is subjects that for whatever reason get me riled. A recent example is the "PETA placing Orange vests on deer" hoax that was in the "news" section. This fairy tale really pi$$es me off and I posted 2-3 times about it.
Third is posts like this one, asking for everyones input.

As far as the quality vs quanity thing, give me quality in any quanity. If I wanted to read quanity without quality I'd spend my time at Democratic Underground.com.

I used to ghost much more than post, but then I noticed that I'd been here for over two tears and had no freakin' post count.  Thus, I now want to hang it out there.  It's time you people dealt with me, and my Seven Deadly Foes!!!

It seems the board has a changing personality from my point of view.  I guess my posting is determined by the mood of the board.  If I could post pics, I would probably post a lot more.

I pay attention to anyone named "Stealth" with a flying hawg symbol so I know it is alright to continue the posting of my meaningless drivel.

But please remember that five of my posts I consider insightful.  Especially my "Reverend Al Sharpton for President" post.

I lurk quite a bit.  Post counts are silly, but a lot of folks around here seem to think you are somehow "better" with a high post count.

YAWN...

People like stealth make life worth living...

Is it me or am I noticing a disproportionate number of posts designed to draw people out?[(:)]

Also, I seem to frequently be the last person to post to a topic[:\]

I have been poking around here since Dec 2000. Then I decided to start posting. Unless I have something useful to add or a question to ask I don't usually post.

Gratuitous reply to add to my own miniscule post count.  Lately I have been almost a daily lurker.  However, I have chosen to support the board by 4 gun purchases from here in the last year.

Can money buy increased post counts?[}:D]

Edited to add that this is the first time I have read the directions to do the smiley face thing.

As you can see from my post count, I'm most definately a lurker.  I don't have the gift of gab in person either, generally a pretty quiet dude...that's where the screen name comes from.

I ghost the boards all the time but rarely reply anymore because work watches my internet access time.......

I usually just ghost, I only post if I have something to contribute not just to post for postings sake.
I guess thats obvious by my registration date and my number of posts.
I was on the old board for quite a while before the changes.

Well, my registration says Jan '01 but I was lurking for a few months before that.  So, over a year and less than 100 posts.  I'd say that I ghost more than I post!

I've been registered here longer than a lot of guys, and don't really post all that much. I like posting on ak.net more, I find a lot of people here to be argumentative to a degree that takes the fun out of many posts. I do like to read stuff here.

I ghost about 5 days a week, 2-3 hours a day. I let the people with more knowledge answer the questions. When I do feel I can contribute I do.

I tend to read way more than I post. I tend to learn a lot by reading the other posts, and usually, by the time I get to a topic, someone has already written exactly what I would, so what's the point of me saying that again.
