Went to the fun shop today to pick this up.

Going to be a while before I get it complete. You can't tell, because it's obviously a shitty phone camera pic, but it's a Bushmaster stamped 6.8mm. The start of my first AR-15. DrJester got me hooked. Hope to have it built quickly - honestly don't know how long it'll take to complete.

so 1st ar, are you going with the 6.8. Or is that just the lower they had. Your 1st should be 5.56.
Welcome, you now have BRD

I've been assured by many - and I believe I even posted the question in the ar-15 section. That it's going to be the upper and the barrel. This will work as a 5.56/.223 AR-15.

Nice!

Just be careful when installing the bolt catch roll pin and the trigger guard roll pin.

Everything else is simple.

yea, you could make it 7.62x39, 5.45x45, 5.7, .50, 6.5, 6.8, .410, .45, .40, 9mm, etc. I was just asking because you stated the 6.8mm roll marks.

Correct.  I have a Stag 6.8 marked lower on my .22lr AR15, no problems at all.  It's actually a nice lower, there is absolutely no play whatsoever between the Stag lower and the Colt flat side upper.

My first lower is currently on the way to my FFL.

I am also very excited! Good luck!

tape, and channel locks work well.

and use a big white garabe bag while putting in the Detent Pins. I did after the 1st 20min in the carpet looking, before I realize my DoulbeStar lower parts kit had extras

noted - I've put pretty detailed model kits together that had tiny metal screws and parts. I'm pretty experienced with going through carpet with a fine tooth come to find them again. my question is, once I get them in, are they going to stay in? Or should I wait till I have all the parts of my ar-15 build to get started?

Yeah I'm sure I will be fine - I do better with those picture instructions they give you with scale models though
