Looking at getting a metal detector for a hobby. Anyone have any suggestions for an inexpensive beginners model, and any tips on searching, also what are some of your finds?

Look at the White Prizm units. I bought my son a Prizm IV, very impressive unit for the money. First week he had it he found an old silver bracelet buried about 5 inches down at a local park.
