But what if I want to keep them stock? The Marlin is about twice the price. A stock 10/22 is an inaccurate bullet hose. (I have one.) Take the barrel band off, change to a lighter trigger pull and your groups will shrink. Even by using the stock barrel and stock. |

Is that stock,he asked. And with that scope are aiming you at Mars? |

Well that's a weird one. Deciding between a 197 dollar .22 from WalMart or a 500 dollar lever action .22 you could pass down to your kids and them to their kids.
The 39A is considered by many to be the finest lever action .22 on the market. Go to rimfire central and you'll find out the love these get over there. I'd go with a Marlin model 60 for 135 bucks and have fun with it. I love mine! All my 10/22 did was jam, jam again, and jam some more, no matter what I had done to it or what ammo/mag I used. Ruger has really cheapened these up a lot. I wouldn't mind an older one though. |

In the 70's I owned a Winchester 255 lever in .22 magnum;loved that gun but had to sell.I am a member at rimfire central but wanted the opinions here. Thanks guys. |

That's how I can identify an inaccurate rifle. If you think that a stock 10/22 is accurate, go test drive an Anschutz smallbore rifle. |
