How do I disable the 'Print to file' window that pops up whenever I try to print a document?  I'm unable to print until I figure this one out.  I tried a Google search already but no luck.  I'm using Vista.  Thanks.

Right click the icon for your printer and select "Set as default printer". Pretty good odds your default printer is set to Microsoft Office Document Image Writer.

Okay, I did that (you were right, the document viewer was the default setting).  However, it didn't solve the problem.  Any other ideas?  Thanks.

Not without laying hands on the system. What application are you printing from and what make/model of printer?

delete Microsoft Office Document Image Writer  from your available printers

I'm printing from Microsoft Word Viewer and using a Dell Photo AIO Printer 964.

Yuck, not a big fan of all-in-ones. The bundled software/driver tends to be pretty crappy. Unless you're married to the software suite that came with it the first thing I would try is stripping all the excess crap out and starting fresh with drivers for just the printer portion of the device. If that doesn't work then the problem would seemingly lie with your settings somewhere or possibly your application or OS (not likely an OS issue). Sorry to be vague as far as solutions go but as I said earlier, without being able to see exactly what it is doing and verify settings and such I'm pretty much stuck shooting in the dark.

Okay well thanks for the advice anyway, I have other options for printing if necessary.

when you choose print in WORD, hit the down arrow next to printer name and select the correct printer

Good call. Neglected to ask if he had restarted Word after making the printer change.

and I assume that you have downloaded and installed the Printer Drivers for the Dell printer? And its showing up in your printer list.

It's no longer opening the Print to File popup, but I still can't print because I'm getting a different popup suggesting I reinstall drivers.  However, I've tried that several times and they always install incorrectly.

Unless you install your printer driver correctly, you won't be doing any printing. Uninstall the old drivers, got to the manufacturer's website to donwload the latest, and try again. Driver problems are the debil.

From what I have been able to gather it looks like Dell printers are repackaged Lexmark's. Try this site for drivers:

Lexmark driver search

Search for Lexmark P4350. It may require installation of a seperate driver to make use of the ADF.
