The Mexican government is saying the same thing, loud and clear. Holder is even trying to use this as justification for a new/permanent AWB –– as in "Even if it doesn't completely have the desired effect here, it will help with all the illegal US assault weapons crossing the border into Mexico and winding up in drug cartel hands" or some such.  |

Guns from the US are how the cartels are arming themselves. But it's already illegal, just like killing people with those guns is already illegal, and straw purchases are illegal, and smuggling guns across the border is already illegal, and operating a drug cartel is already illegal.
It's almost like laws are meaningless without enforcement. But that's just crazy talk. |

I do have to say this about CNN. They still feature Lou Dobbs every evening. Last week he hammered on the Obama administration every night over Holder running his mouth about a renewed call for the AWB. Dobb's said that any ban is a clear violation of or 2nd amendment rights and every American should stand up and fight.

| I just got done emailing my congress-critter and representatives about this. We need to get the word out quick on this. So long as we get one loud voice to stand up and say "Why won't the Mexican authorities release the serial numbers to prove this claim?" I think it'll put an awfully big hole in this argument. |
