Which is a better combat handgun?

Answer these:

Which is better Chevy or Ford?
9mm or .45 cal.

etc, etc,

Sig, H+K, Glock......etc all make weapons that go bang when you pull the trigger, along with many other maunfactrers.

The H+K has a larger ammo capacity, has accessory rails, but is a physically larger weapon. The P-220 is more compact-CCW.

Which one feels better in your hand? That is probably the one that is better, for you anyway.

I think it comes down to a personal choice.

I choose the 220.

Holy crap this didn't start as a pissing match.  That's cool.  I guess we've all seen these topics all too often :)

H&K, baby! Hands down.

both are equally as good. I would feel safe with either. The USP has 12 rounds and the Sig has 8 I believe.

I'm a SIG fan, so I'm already biased.

I like the HK capacity, but I detest their triggers and grips.

What's the attraction of the .38 super? Did you pay more than the list price of a .45 ACP P220 for yours?

The H&K is clearly the better gun, albeit not by a huge margin.
I've owned both & kept the H&K for basically one reason: the H&K was head & shoulders above the Sig P-220 in accuracy. Aa far as I was concerned, that was IT! If a gun can outshoot a H&K, keep it. If not, I let them go.
The other differences in method of operation (cocked-and-locked, etc.)are merely that: differences in operation. You can get opinions until doomsday about which design works better.
Both guns are high quality so it's not like you'll lose your shirt on either one.
For the record I own a H&K 45 Compact S/S model. The Compact balanced better for me than did the full size or even the Tactical or Match models.
My .o2

I bought the .38 Super used.
The reason for buying this caliber is more "because I always wanted one" as opposed to any true practical reason.
