| I recently got a job as a one on one aid at an elementary school. Today the kid doesnt show up so I go home. the wife (who also works there) says they might have put me with another student. I was hired to work with a specific student by name and I don't have any interest in subbing for other aids/teachers that don't show up. Did I do the right thing? |

Quoted: A note for all employees: If you suddenly find yourself without something to do, the ethical action (and your best bet of getting promoted) is to make yourself productive somehow. If you just leave, fall asleep in your car or troll ARFCOM, you're doing it wrong. ![]() This. If you don't show value to your employer, why should he value you? |

As regards ethics:
My philosophy is that if you take money to do a job, then you do that job to the best of your damn ability, whether you like the job or not. But in your situation, it sounds like you need a little more clarification from the school as to what exactly is expected of you. |
