Why are so many vendors passing these fees on to their customers? Shouldn't that be an expense of doing business?

If a guy wants something bad enough he'll pay it. Every expense in the business world is passed on to the customer. It's part of capitalism and the free enterprise system, face it!

I use PayPal for my business and it's worth it to me. We do a very small volume per month and it wouldn't be cost-effective to have a merchanct account/CC processing. We don't pass on the 2% to the customer.
