I've never seen one this old before and never seen these markings.



the same mark is on the right side of the frame just in front of the take down and the number 17 is in a circle on left front of trigger guard.
Wanting to know how old it is.serial starts with GA and is only 3 digits. Any Ideas,because your obviously not working

looks like foreign markings of some sort. my guess is it was not intended to be in the US. ( if it is )

Nitrocellullous tested proof marks from Austria.
Those proofmarks are stamped when they were assembled and test fired in Austria then sent here.

Its an early Glock 17.

It was purchased at a local shop about 10 yrs. ago and the buyer(ffriend of mine)was told it was a police trade-in.He's only shot it once and it's been sitting for 10 years.

The bird on the left is an Austrian proof mark, and the one on the right means Nitro Powder Proofed

Looks like about 1990?  If you look at some of the older listings at the link below, they are listed as having Austrian proof marks.

Oh yeah, and GA prefix serial number looks like it was made in June of 1989.

According to another forum where there is a lot of Glock Talk, serial GAxxx is Gen 2 G-17 manufactured in May/June 1989.

this thing has it all-weird markings,finish almost all the way gone and it appears to have never been cleanedIt definately has alot of characterI'm thinking of buying it,just don't know how much this antique would be worth
