| Has scotus become a "political entity" or do they ONLY make rulings(take cases)based on law? |
|
Yes. Many will say the FL election ruling was based purely on politics, despite it being driven by multiple readings of the same law(s) on the lower levels, for example. Another one may be the MN Senate race, if Coleman carries it that far. The SCOTUS can only rule on things petitioned to the court though, they can't just pick out willy nilly things they'd like to rule on. |

Yeah, but they can sure pick some shaky reasons to turn down cases you know.......like they've done with the 2nd for thirty years or so..... |
