Here's the scenario.  We have land 8 miles away from our house that is used for hunting and recreation.  Neighbors and trespassers have been using our land without permission (followed tracks in the snow).  I have a game camera but I'd like a live video feed.  There is no electricity for any kind of power outlets to plug in or anything.  I want a camera that will work like the logitech's to give me live feed and store video through the internet.  Is there such a system that will run off of a large battery and transmit over the internet?  Any other suggestions or ideas pertaining to a security system would be great.

This idea would also be a blast to see wildlife.

I don't think it would be a problem for power...they don't draw much at all, but no utilities means no interwebz...how will you broadcast a live feed? laptop and an aircard?

You are talking about a hefty investment. There are cameras that can be hooked directly to the internet (adressable) that run off of 13.6 volts. It's do-able...if you have several thousand dollars to invest in the equipment.

If you can find a site that can host live cell phone videos, you can conceal a car battery and cell charger on your property.  Isn't there one of those game cameras that have a cellular ability to call you when there is activity ?  Than when you get a call you can look at the video feeds.

Other wise invest in a predator drone

That's another question, I know very little about operating networks and cell cards (?) and stuff like that.  Do I need to have internet access where the cameras are set  up, or just where I'm getting the video from on my computer?  I've seen the game cameras that send video to cell phones but I don't want anything I have to pay monthly for.  I'll worry about the price after I find our and understand if my answer is out there so fire away.

In real cold weather you will need some sort of heating for the camera or it will fog up

coldair...the axis cameras are exactly what I need, but do I need internet where the cameras are hooked up?

This could do the job for a couple of miles... but I don't know about 7 miles plus. Call them directly and ask to speak with a tech. They are very helpful in the L.E. community.
