| If one is willing to wait for supply to catch up, how long will it be? I am in no big hurry to build my next rifle if it means waiting a year to save up and get my parts in a quick turn around. So I as ask you, how long before the AR world settles down? |
Agreed...and agreed! Most online retailers seemed to have peeked with back orders and the length of time quoted is coming down a little. Prices are set by the distributers and manufacturers and will stay high aslong as demand is high. I don't see demand NOT being high with a bunch of Lib-tards running congress and a Marxist Commie in White House. Still if you wait a little while ou might find the parts your looking for as opposed to getting on a 6 month waiting list for them

| I stoped buy a local gun store yesterday and they had plenty of AR's in stock, a month ago they didnt have anything. It seems to be slowing down some, there is no way that the buying streak could go on much longer, eventualy everyone is going to run out of money/credit. |

It's hard to say. I'm still witnessing plenty of people on here going completely apeshit to buy rifles, lowers and uppers. The strange thing is that in my fairly large circle of friends who are into firearms, there's not a single one of us who has been sucked into this frenzy. I understand the person who doesn't have a single AR and suddenly wants to rush to get one, but there are guys who have bought dozens of lowers and 5-6 additional rifles and already have a whole bunch of ARs. It's just silly. I've basically "excused myself" from being a customer for the time being because I refuse to be a part of this. It's times like this that also let you identify the retailers who try to take the most advantage of the situation. Hopefully over the next few weeks things will calm down a bit, but for right now, I don't see any changes. |

Well this was originally in the Jan 20th what ifs thread but they locked it before I could finish my post. So soory to dump it here but...

If people paid more attention to politics BEFORE elections we wouldn't have to worry with this shit. Call or write your Representatives. Let them all know where you stand. Do something other than speculate. +1 If we all let our representatives know where we stand about these subjects (gun ownership, AWB, ammo taxes, etc...) it won't matter which party they belong to, they will vote whichever way enough of their constituants want them too. They know it is either that or they will be voted out of office next election. Remember, ultimately THEY work for YOU and when enough of YOU speak THEY WILL LISTEN. From what I can tell, the problem in our country is that, generally, the masses believe "the government" is all powerful, so they just conform. I've been serving my country for 21.5 years now. I've seen a lot of things and been to a lot of places. I REALLY don't want MY country to be like those places. When I retire from the Air Force I want to be a history teacher so I can try to make a difference in the generation after the next. I believe that education is the key. Take DM1975's advice, don't be a Lemming. Hallelujah and pass the ammo. I write my reps every few weeks about different things. I live in the totally socialist state of Maryland and while there a lot of Dems out here, a lot of them also own firearms. We even have Democratic Reps that offer pro firearms legislation. You must be the squeaky wheel and keep it short and to the point. Also try to be respectful with your tone. The worst thing you can do is just lie there like a pig. It will take you 10 minutes to create a letter and e-mail it to your House and Senate employees. If you really want to shock them, call or visit their office. I call the Congression switchboard. I email my rep and senator. However BOTH of mine are now Lib-tards. Ive already gotten one responce to the effect of "I'm sorry, I cannot support this...BLAH BLAH BLAH...have looked at the legislation and I must think what is best for the people of OH...BLAH BLAH. Mary O'Shaughnasy was a Fucking county auditor! No business in Congress, and my Sentor couldn't be more opposed to gun owner's rights!!! I hear a lot of clammering right now about BHO and Congress. Where were these cares wehen so many pro-2nd A supporters "voted their conscience" by voting for a guy wo couldn't win?!!! The fact is, this is a 2 party country and a vote for a 3r party candidate does nthing but lesson the chance of the candidte who more closely represents your values gettng elected! If you want to do something to get a real conservative n the ticket then volunteer, become active. Don't sit and bitch!!! Quoted:

Are they gonna make everybody turn them in? I wish them luck with that...
For I'm sure a fairly decent percentage of gun owners out there, "from my cold dead hands" is "just words". But for the remainder of us, he'll discover the truth of his speech "just words." If even 1% of the estimated 80 million gun owners don't go quitely into submission, that's still 800,000 of us...not an insignificant number!!! Quoted:

The anti gun Liberals are having a heart attack right now since Obama has been the best gun salesman in history. I think they will try to move quickly so as to stop another 100K assault weapons from hitting the street. Restricting "non sporting" ammo will be high on the list also. Expect executive orders stopping the importation of stuff like 7.62X39..... Executive orders to stop importing 7.62? Have you really lost your mind? I swear, the tinfoil hat wearers of this forum are a little much sometime. No one is going to stop back-ordered rifles from getting to the people who purchased them. That's why there is a buying frenzy. There is cause to be alarmed, but some of the speculation I see is just retarded. He may tax ammo, but no one is coming to your house to take your rifles. "Now move along, these are not the droids you're looking for." Exactally, tell you what if you don't think that a Marxist Commie and a collection of Liberal elitests don't have the power to stop importation of ammo, and production of rifles, then you my friend are an idiot! |
