I know the cmp site says up to 90 days for completing the orders.   What are your experiences with the timeline?

I am also testing beta arfcom right now to see how it displays stuff.

Ummm.  I guess I care, because I want to know when mine will likely arrive.

that was an accurate timeline for me, sometime early last year. The ammo I ordered in November still isn't here so I think they're running a little slow now.

enjoy, they're great guns!

Took me about 4 weeks on my order.

HRA Service Grade and Ammo.  Ammo came a few days later after the rifle.

I just sent in my application for the Garand Collecters Association.  I am planning to drive to there North store, and pick up a couple as soon as possible. It's a 12 hour drive, but I'll be able to hand pick them.

Can you purchase more than two at a time? I couldn't find anything on there site about that.

less than 30 days for both a Garand and a Carbine.

Got one from them and did some work and fine tuning. Once finnished with that she shoots as good as the WWII Garand my Grandpa gave me. Best part about the Garand I got was the serial number puts it at being maufactured in march of 44, just in time for the invasion of Normandy. I look at it and wonder how many germans it snuffed out and the journey of the man using it.

Bottom line is they are good shooting rifles. Nothing top of the shelf but really accurate for a Garand and not a safe queen. Not to mention customer service is great.

Timeline varies greatly and won't matter a lick when that big white truck drives up in front of your house.  Purchasing by mail can be so exciting what with luck of the draw.  Hope you get the Garand of your dreams patchouli.

Thank you!  It would be cool to be able to search the history of each rifle.  Like who it was issued to etc.

Is there anyway to do that?

Also, did you get any notification that it was on its way? The reason I ask, is that deliveries at my place of residence always seem to be when I am NOT there to receive them.  I can rearrange my schedule if I know what day they will be there.

Go check out the CMP forum.  The enthusiasts there are very vocal about keeping each other informed on how long each step is taking in the system, and which day's orders are being processed.  For example, "My order submitted x/y/z just went to 'processing'!"

You will get tracking info when it ships and the expected delivery date.

Dig around the CMP website. They have forums and stuff also! I bet that would be the place to look, as it is a more specialized site.  That's where I would start, but that's just me.

You can now purchase 12 per calendar year. You'll be happy you made the drive, hand picking your rifles is the way to go, there are almost always a hand full of rifles out in the racks at the North Store that are far better examples within their specified grade.

Update:
Just got an email from CMP.  They received my order on the 7th and it's been verified.  They say it will take around 60 days to ship because of volume.
Well, at least I know it got there!

One of the neat things about CMP is that they'll work with you.

I wrote them once with an order to tell me when the order was ready, but NOT to send it until I knew I'd be ashore to pick it up.

They wrote me back a while later and told me it was ready. I told them to hold it.

The day before I came ashore, I told them to send it and it arrived the day after I got home.

CMP is GREAT!

I sent my order in on December 11th.  I received an email from CMP stating they were processing my order on Jan 8th.  They stated my wait should be 30-60 days from that point.
