OK, The rules...

This thread is for those of us that have made it past puberty.
Topic:
70's Rock Album that YOU OWNED that was a milestone in the industry at that time. I.E. It put that band/artist on the map, (not necessarily their first album) and brought something new to the scene.

AND...your list is limited to 5 albums.
AND...what media was it on when you got it. (8 Track, Vinyl, Cassette)
AND...Do you still have it? (The original, made in the 70's)

My List:

Pink Floyd - "Dark Side of the Moon". First bought on 8 Track. Then bought a Discrete Quad system, and bought the tape again on Quad 8 Track. Later bought it on Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs "Half Speed mastered, Master Recording" on Vinyl. I still have all those albums. (and a few more)

Deep Purple - "Machine Head". On 8 Track. I wore it out. Spliced several times, and finally tossed it, replacing it with Vinyl. Still have the Vinyl from the 70's.

Boston - "Boston". 8 track, and vinyl. Still have both.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Pronounced". 8 Track and Vinyl. Still have both.

Doobie Brothers - "The Captain and Me". 8 Track, Quad 8 Track and MFSL Master Vinyl. Still have all.

Man, It would be easy to go on with the list, but some asshole put a 5 album limit on the list.

Show me whatcha got....

If you break the rules, I'll point fingers, and make fun of you, SO DON'T DO IT!!!

The Rolling Stones "Sticky Fingers" comes to mind; that LP with a zipper on the jacket. "Wild Horses", etc.

That is one of the things I miss most about the Vinyl LPs. The album covers. I've got several hundred of them. Some of them are really cool.
I'll have to start a "Coolest Vinyl Album Cover" thread later..

If I had known that someday the covers would be worth more than the records, I would have taken better care of them, etc....
