From my limited knowledge, at least in the US, it was more popularly known as World War II after the US entered the war. Before that, it was 'the war in Europe,' etc. Japan didn't merit too much mention before Dec. '41 on Main Street, America. I do think it was called WWII during the war itself, though. But I'm not 100% certain. Anyone else? |
