go after him or the yotes might get to it.should be able to track the blood if you hit him good

Well, you're supposed to wait an hour before tracking them anyway, according to the hunter's education course I took this summer. Chasing them will make them run farther. Let them find a spot to rest and they will bleed out. Bring a blue LED light or a blue filter for your flashlight and wait the hour, then go before sunrise so you can use the light to find the blood easier.

And I have to ask...

Is it legal where you are to hunt between sunset and sunrise?

Correct me if i am wrong, but I thought that most of the "match" rounds made for poor hunting ammo?  I know Sierra says to NOT use their SMK's for hunting purposes.

Wait a minute....you can legally shoot deer at night in RI?

In WI, the DNR will take your license away for ~3 years and fine you if you $$$$ for that stunt.

I hate to tell you but you just may have committed a crime.  3 a.m. EST seems a little early in the morning to be shooting deer and the fact that you had to use floodlights for illumination would/could constitute spotlighting here in TN and you would be subject to losing said rifle and theoretically your home as you shot it out the window. (used to support your criminal action)  Oh and do/did you have a deer permit/tag?  If not then its just more gravy for the game warden.

This.  They MAY expand.  Or they MAY NOT.  They weren't designed for hunting.

I hate to tell you but I copied your post BEFORE your edite.  You can expect a visit by the R.I. DEM and explain it to them.  I am sure they will be most entertained by your hunting with a rifle in a shotgun only state, at night, while jacklighting on someone else's land where according to you, without written permission in your hands as you checked said deer into checking station and finally by shooting said deer at 3 am EST.

Play stupid games win stupid prize felon.

Didn't we just have a huge arock-like thread this week already?

If you seriously just took internet into the real world, I really don't know what to say.

The only person who should be shunned/banned or criticized is the OP for being stupid enough to post his several felonious actions and expect approval from everyone.  Sorry but anyone who is an ethical hunter should take offense to those people who give us ALL a bad reputation by doing illegal crap.  HE only changed his story after it was pointed out being illegal.

I am not holier than thou on anything but if you post on a public forum that you have broken the law expect someone to either publicly or privately turn you in.  Whether or not I did or did not contact anyone will just have to be seen.  If it pisses people off then I hate it for you.

Oh well it sure got a rise out of you.  Now you understand the serious problem of posting stupid shit.  SOMETIMES it might get taken as truthful by people who don't want to see things our way.

EXAMPLE:  ATF, Obama, Brady Bunch, PETA, Humane Society just a few of the more rabid anti gun folks.
