I need a GPS that I can punch in the coordinates (like 47.122 degrees N 38.222 W). I'll be going to BFE posting some property and I will be able to get the coordinates before I leave. I've got a cheap Garmin ETrex, but it doesn't have the feature that I need. I'd like to keep it under a coupole hundered bucks.
Thanks. |

Are you sure you can't? Try marking a waypoint, then edit the name/coordinates to what you want. |

Page 21 of your User manual tells exactly how to do what you are asking.

You can indeed enter coordinates. One way is to save wherever you happen to be as a waypoint, then edit that waypoint with the coords of wherever you want to end up. |

MUNG, I have a powerpoint period of instruction on the eTrex Legend that I came up with when my team had been issued those units in Iraq. I'd be glad to send it to you if you'd like another resource.
If you'd like it, hit me up with an email and I'll attach it to my reply. |

The Garmin Website www.garmin.com has manuals for all their GPS devices available for download...
If it is not a unit that is being sold now then it is found in the discontinued area... Also, firmware updates and software updates are available on the site... Ted... |
