For those of you poor, deprived people who refuse/can't come to California, and would otherwise never see the collection:
One of the lads on CalGuns brought a camcorder along to the museum. Sadly, he failed to bring enough batteries for the camcorder (It missed out Building 3, with the Chieftain, Conqueror, M103 etc), but it is still a 110minute file. Watch (when you have time!) and be amazed. Very long streaming video. BTW, please excuse the mislabelling of the M110 round as a 152, or the StuG as having a "Long 48" instead of a "75 L/48." Not sure how that happened. NTM |
| If I;m not mistaken, Jacques Littlefield is one of only two private collectors in the world that actually own restored WW2 German Panther tanks (shown on Tank Factory, along with British colector Kevin Wheathcroft - who has three more, but in non-running condition) |

If your into tanks don't miss the Patton Museum.
I really want to go back again. |

Hey my wife was one of his next door neighbors growing up in Portolla Valley. Lived there for 25 years. Her parents and the "head grounds keeper" are really good friends. Her folks sold their place to him in 2000 and moved to Redding.
He used to have a kick ass July 4th party every year when everybody was invited. That was until he married his third wife, who was like Miss Venezuela. She has a major problem with people who are "lower" classes then herself. |

Alright Manic.....I set here and watched about 80 minutes of this thing....good stuff, aside from the british "Abrams expert"..your story's are much better. I noticed earlier in the thread that you pissed on the Patton collection...why would you do that?
My last visit there was about 6 months ago and I took my step-daughter whom is a journalism major at RIT in NY. and hates war....the Patton collection opened her eyes. |

He makes the Patton museum look like a bunch of amateur enthusiasts. They've got some unique exhibits, but as an overall museum... NTM The problem with the Patton Museum is the building is too small for all the vehicles that are on base waiting to be displayed. Ft. Knox has museum pieces scattered all over hell and half acre waiting for a new building to be built that's large enough to house them all. There's got to be two dozen or more inside the LST "classrom" alone, with many, many more on different ramps and in other warehouses. You're right, it's not overly impressive in its present form in comparison, but it's not being shown at 100% yet either. I've seen this guy on TV, and his operation is impressive indeed. World class, IMO. |
