It's like I half wake up, and then I see clarity. While I'm in a dream state, but fully aware, of where I am, and all of the noises in the house and what's going on. I suddenly know all the answers.
But I can't move. Then I go back to sleep and forget it. That feeling, that is. |

I have enough worries as it is. |

Waking up and being unable to move is pretty common. When you go fully to sleep, you are in the Rapid Eye Movement (REM) stage of sleep. You are dreaming, frequently lucid dreaming, but your body is unable to move. If you come out of it too quickly, you are still unable to move. This can cause panic attacks sometimes.
I was experiencing this when I was in my late teens-early twenties. Someone told me about how to control my lucid dreams, and as soon as I began to do this, the phenomenon stopped. |
| I've been having that happen for the past week or so. No bad dreams or anything, just wake up drenched in sweat. However, I had surgery last week to repair my ACL and a Meniscus tear, so I've had some knee pain and I've had to sleep on my back so one or the other may be the cause of it. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea a couple of years ago, had surgery to repair a deviated septum and to open up my nasal passages and have had no problems sleeping or waking up sweating until this past week. So it's either pain related or sleeping on my back (I usually sleep on my stomach). I'd say if you're not having any bad dreams, you might want to have a sleep study done if this continues. You may have sleep apnea, which is bad juju if you don't take care of it. |

I stayed up at a friends house one time and woke up in the middle of the night standing beside the bed clutching frantically at my hip for my pistol. The sad part was, I was wearing nothing except underwear.
That is the only time I have ever woken up like that and it kinda freaked me out. |

Had same problem for years, used to wake up in a puddle sometimes. Spent a few bucks with MD's to have it diagnosed but no definitive results. I did have back problems though at the time so I believe this was the cause.
My back doesn't bother me as much now and the symptoms have all but disappeared. ....and dibs on Crocs, Shamwow's!!!, CLP and any lead you might have.
