A few Q's
I have an Asus P5Q MB, Intel Core Duo Quat processor. Will a motherboard give a beep code without RAM? I have tried removing the RAM and starting it up as I think it is suspect. I have my machine up with just the MB, processor and power supply. I get nothing, no boot, no POST. I have tested the power supply with a multi meter, all the voltages are there. |

that board doesn't require memory to be installed in pairs? rofl.dude.......SIMMs haven't been used in a LONG LONG LONG LONG time. Welcome to the 1990's 2000s - Dual channel just gets disabled when you only use one DIMM, don't think I've ever seen a dual channel controller that wasn't capable of running in single channel mode. ffsparky26- What does it do with the memory you have already? Does it not POST or something? If it POSTs....use memtest86 to check for memory problems (get the zipped iso and burn the image) |
