I was returning home driving through Laughlin, NV from Arizona, I took a left turn to pull into the gas station. This occurred at approx 3am. After I had my keys out of the ignition, he pulled up and turned his lights on. I stopped what I was doing, and waited for instructions. He explained that he had 'pulled me over' for not using my left turn signal. After he finished in his car, he told me to 'follow the directions on the ticket to get it dismissed'. How does one go about doing this? ETA:Edited for spelling. |

I'd suggest reading what is on the ticket, on both sides, and following the instructions included within... It explains on the rear that there is a Mandatory court appearance if the Citation is of the following, Reckless Driving, traffic offenses carrying more that four points, Driving on a suspended/revoked license, Fraudulent Use of a Driver's License, all insurance offenses, and DWI related offenses. If an out of state person can't show up, warrant, etc Under that it lists the prices to resolve via bail, and reduced bail prices. Under that, forfeiture of bail. It lists nothing of having it dismissed. I will be showing up, but I've never done this sort of thing before. I would prefer to not have to spend another $100 in gas to pay a $190 ticket, but I -am- guilty of failure to use my turn signal. Eta: Live and Learn, I guess. |

Pay the bail amount and then forfeit it. |

Sounds like this is not under this so I would just pay the fine by mail. By the way, "dismissed" means to permit or cause to leave and to be forgiven. Bad choice of words on his part but I would say that is done to get him out of the stop without argument from you because you think "I'll get out of this" unitl you take time to read it and realise that you are going to pay either way. |
