I heard on the news that anyone in the UAW, in the event they get laid off, can collect 90-95% of their salary for 48 months.

For FOUR YEARS they'll continue to be paid for doing absolutely nothing.

Can anyone verify this?

I thought they only got a stipend, much less than base pay, like a consolation prize. "Thanks for playing UAW! Have a cookie!"

I don't recall the length of the payout, but it's irrelevent this time around.
