I got a federal stafford loan for 7500, split between both semesters first.  That covered all but about 400 bucks of my tuition

Then I went through discover student loans for a 10k private loan, and needed my dad to cosign.  This again is split between both semesters.

It's hard to find someone that will give you a student loan, because 33 dedicated student loan companies have gone out of business, and banks themselves are very weary to do so.  You need a great credit score, or a cosigner with a great credit score if you want to have any chance.

I was turned down the first time I applied in Oct., with my dad cosigning.  He's worth well over 3 mil, and has a few points shy of a perfect credit score.  How I was turned down I don't know...

Good luck
