Anyone have the weight of a single spent .50cal brass casing?  If you have any weight figures for a certain amount of cases let me know.

865 grams on the average depending on the brand.

ETA; It's grains. You all are correct. I haven't had my morning coffee yet.

That would be just under two pounds per case.  I don't think that's accurate.

I think he meant grains....not grams.

From another thread off a different forum:

50bmg, 865.26gr/ea, 8.1cases/#, 123.5#/1000

865 GRAMS = 30 oz.  That's 1.8+ lbs.

865 GRAINS = 1.9 oz

Just weighed a few, that figure is in grains.

The 1.9oz sounds right with 123#/1000

So if my math is on:
1780lbs is 14,000 .50cal brass casings +/-

You wouldn't have a .308 brass case or a .223 in front of you that you could weigh into grains for me, would you?
