Every other space heater Ive had has always shut off when it was tilted beyond a certain point. I got one at walmart and has a auto-shut off feature if it overheats, but doesn't turn off when i tip it over. Think it's still safe?

maybe if it falls on its face it will overheat and shutdown before it catches anything on fire . just a guess

The one we had in our last house would only catch on fire if you tilted it forward,  but not side to side...weird.

Not as safe as one that shuts off when it tips over...

OTOH, tip switches tend to be a failure-prone item - If the heater suddenly quits working, it's one of the first things to suspect.

It's a space heater, so no, it's not safe. I hate those things.
