Figure this couldn't be new to anyone.  I used to hang out at the OTF on the CS forums forever just to annoy the idiots.  Same stuff came up all the time.

Although I do have a problem with some of the questions, as well as the methodology.

Questions:

  • "If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations."

This is a philosophical question; not a 'yes/no' question.  In my [philosophical] opinion, economic globalization is inevitable.  However, I don't see humanity/corporations as an either/or prospect.  I'm a capitalist.  I'm not a corporatist, but I am also not an anti-corporatist.

  • "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Close.  You could say I agree with this, except I am an adherent of the "There are no friends; only interests" philosophy.  There's a difference, and it is both distinct, and important.

  • "The prime function of schooling should be to equip the future generation to find jobs."

Pretty much.  Enough that I chose 'agree'.  However, the whole reason we accept the state intervention of *public* schooling is because we think it's worth the trade to have a well-educated and informed populace...... that is capable of thinking critically.  We've obviously failed here, but that's another story.

Methodology:

  • Wish there was a "middle road" for some of the questions I didn't agree with; or issues where I don't really care about the outcome.  I didn't like being forced to agree or disagree.

  • Since the above wasn't available to me, I tried to leave the first question unanswered.  They are apparently all 'required' questions.

Also, it didn't differentiate between personally-held convictions, and which of those convictions we'd like to impose on others via the coercive power of the state.
