I saw a few ODA's here and there using that patch back in the day. Nothing official, just kind of a team thing.

Trunk Monkeys Mil Spec Operators and SSDGs need only wear that patch.

Also if you are seen with that patch on your load out gear it means everybody in your unit gets to bang your girlfriend when they return state side.

Navy SEALS started wearing them first as a morale patch.

Lots of people followed suit because its a cool patch.

Its not official though.

I wear it on my flight suit once in a while, its a cool patch and uniquely "Navy". SEALs wear it, Ive seen USMC wear it too, appropriate for all of us, not so much for the land lubbers though

Yep

SEALs and various Marines have been wearing them for quite a while, and a whole bunch of other people do too now.

They only give those to Navy Seals and Delta Force. Thats why so many guys here have them.
