Under serious consideration is the word tonight.

NEW YORK (WABC) –– ABC News is reporting that Sen. Hillary Clinton is being considered to serve as secretary of state in the Obama administration.

Clinton lost to Barack Obama in the Democratic presidential primary.

There was no comment from Senator Clinton's office on the report. The former first lady is in her second term as a senator from New York.

The news follows reports on Wednesday that Obama's transition aides approached Clinton's former campaign manager about taking a senior White House post.

Unnamed Democratic sources said Patti Solis Doyle is considering taking the job, although she worries about the effect it would have on her two young children. She was contacted about possibly becoming Cabinet secretary, a job that involves coordinating the efforts of the White House and cabinet-level agencies.

I doubt that she would give up her Senate seat for that position.

Honestly?

I could think of worse.

In fact, it could be good.  I don't think her and obambi would get along.

Anything that distracts that motherfucker is a good thing.

Better than a SCOTUS slot.

That's the direction I'm leaning myself.

However, as a NY'er, I fear for what this means for my state.

Why would she fucking do that?  Senator is MUCH more powerful than Sec State.

To be perfectly honest about it,  she'd probably do a decent job in that position.  She might be a very good Secretary of State,  actually.

And it would be a net improvement for us because it would mean that she would not be
part of the lawmaking process anymore if she took the job.

I do not know.
They're talking about it on the radio now, so if any insight comes forth, I'll post it.

I posted to see what Hiram has to say.

Politics ain't my bag, but since it just came over the news, I figured it would make good fodder.

I think people are just flapping their lips.  Senator is a MUCH better job.  YOu can tell the sitting president to FOAD instead of having to suck his dick because he's the Boss.

I'd Rather her be Secretary of State than Attorney General.

She will have a role in the Obama admin.

There is no other expianation why the Clinton machine failed to destroy the president-elect.

Think Madeline Albright, someone so clever as to choose each brooch to send a secret message to someone who doesn't get it and has no respect for anythign you think anyway.  I'd say Clinton would be right in there with her.  Sounds like a good pick for those hoping for the "total collapse" theory that causes Obama to fail so badly by '10 that the opposition can retake Congress.

Well maybe he did.

The word is "she may be tapped" for the job. Doesn't mean she'd accept.

Now suppose this was negotiated months ago, what could be the motivation to take this job?
*Something* must have been negotiated, because she went quietly into the night.
That ain't Clinton-like. Either it was made clear to her that the fix was in (ACORN ect)
Or he had something that could destroy her worse than anything she had on him.

I smell fish, and it ain't Hildog's.

No way. I bet she stays in the Senate, hopes Obama really fucks up, and plans to run in 2012.

If Obama has a terrible first term, and she's in the cabinet, she can't distance herself and run in the primary.

Then again, couldn't this strengthen her resume for a run in 2012 regardless?
I mean face it, we all know oblama is going to royally screw the pooch...
The dems will blame it on BOOOSH, and people won't vote oblama again...
but they just might get behind Hildog. Dems have to run SOMEONE, right?

And who are the Republicans going to run? The already branded with "inexperience" Palin?
That would be a disaster if Hildog has the added exp. of Sec. of State.

Following me here?

Hillary could be positioning herself to be the single most experienced democratic candidate EVER.

Easy now...

what kind of imbecile do you think they're gonna replace her with?

I'm willing to bet one far worse than Schumer.

ETA: And lets not forget Hillary hasn't done much of a damn thing as a NY Senator.
That's a good thing. I wouldn't mind that continuing to be her legacy.
