I like to look back on the previous year and think about how many guns I bought/acquired....might make for some good conversation. So let's add some scoring to it (the higher the political incorrectness, the higher the score):

5 points for each full-auto firearm acquired in 2001.

4 points for each .50 BMG rifle acquired in 2001.

3 points for each semi-auto rifle/shotgun acquired in 2001.

2 points for each semi-auto pistol acquired in 2001.

1 point for each manual-loading (ie, bolt/lever/pump/revolving) firearm acquired in 2001.

NEGATIVE points for anything you got rid of in 2001.

I get 3 pts. for the AR I built with RRA Group Purchase lower receiver, built up with an Armalite parts kit, Armalite 24" bull barrel upper, Jewell trigger, Harris bipod, and Leopuld 4.5x14x50.

3 pts. for a CETME purchased through AIM, though it shoots WAAAAYYY left and I need to get off my butt and send back to Century for fixin'.

1 pt. for a Remington 870 12 gauge.

1 pt. for a Savage bolt rifle in .308, topped with a Tasco 3x9.

8 points total. I'm sure I'm about to get my ass kicked, but let's hear how you all did this year....

I like the point system, but it ought to give more points for evil prebans as opposed to neutered and slightly less evil postbans.  Anyway, here goes . . .

1 BHP  2
1 BHP clone  2
1 22/45  2
1 CETME preban  3
1 DSA FAL (at least I think that was this year, maybe it was last year, I can't remember)  3
1 AR180 (also this year I think)  3
1 SAR-1  3
1 M4gery preban  3
1 Sig P245  2
1 Browning Special Trap  1
1 AR17  3
1 M1A  3
1 Makarov  2

I didn't get rid of any guns this year.

I have a Vector Uzi on order, but that doesn't count until I have it in my hot little hands.  Next year.  But at between 26 and 32 points, I think I am doing OK.  [8D]

2pt Berreta Tomcat

Strange??, I only come up with 15--a Barrett M82, State Arms KC2000, Benelli M3, HK P7 K3, Colt Python, Smith 28.

Of course, I also got a Vector UZI and an HK 53, but sold a pair of MAC's to raise a little money towards the purchase.

I only had a small net gain in #'s, but cleaned up my collection considerably.

I'm not sure, I don't feel like doing the math right now. I know I've sold at least 11 guns this year so far to fund building a new house, but somehow I still have more firearms now than I did this time last year.[;)]

43 points, so far.

There are a couple of weeks left in the year and I do have a pre-ban AR up for sale, but I'll probably pick up a SAR-1 or 3 at the gun show next weekend, so that's a wash, though I might trade the AR for a SAR-8, so I'd pcik up a few more points. Wonder if I can hit 50?

And I am looking for an O/U to use for sporting clays, which might be a tad PC for this group [;)]

Glock 19     2pts
Glock 36     2pts

Hammerli 22  2pts
Mossberg 500 2pts

13 pts for 2001

However, I also bought about 15 knives including 5 customs.

Well, 5 points.

Pump shotgun
Double barrel shotgun
Bolt action rifle
pistol

Oh yeah, a new safe that cost more than all those put together.

16 points, but 2002 I hope to average 1 per month.

2 Ars = 6
2 FAls = 6
1 STI Edge = 2
1 Tec 9 = 2

Total is 16

Pre-64 Winchester Model 94 .30-30
1936 Mosin-Nagant, Tula made
Old JC Higgins 12-ga pump.

If the next two sales go as planned, this is depressing:

+HK91 +3
-HK93 -3
-HK P7M10 -2 (should be minus more, since I loved that gun)
-HK91 -3 (sale pending)
-SA TRP -2 (hoping to sell)

Do they have to work to count?

3 - Marlin Model 60, I really feel guilty about taking three entire points for this cheap one.

1 - Bolt action Mosin Nagant M44

0 - Oly AR-15, the bolt won't close over an inserted mag

0 - Kel-Tec P-32 that needs a new barrel, frame, and several small parts.  Pictures at users.upstate.net/zoom/P-32/

So, a total of four.  That's not too bad considering I had a life-time score of 0 before this year.z

Two... The 20 guage shotgun I bought mainly for my wife to use for home defense, and the .22 lever I bought for my daughters Christmas present.

Lesse... that makes 2 for the pump gun, and 2 for the lever - guess I'm at 4 points.  Wopuld have been more (was going to purchase a 9mm 1911 style pistol, but the boss put the brakes on that by removing my source of income - oh, well)

Nexy year should be better ... I aim to get a lever gun for myself for hunting, something else in 7.62x39, another pistol for the wife, and maybe another one for me... Good thing I'm not living in one of those 1 gun a moAristates.  I'd have too much trouble keeping up.

Well, if we only assume things we have taken possesion of (awaiting FA transfer), not a big year for me.

Total = 8 or 13 if suppressors count for 5

If we add in  paid for  but not in our hot little hand still small

Total = 13 or 23 if suppressors count for 5

How about another thread for total points!!!
Might be interesting to see.
