What gear is absolutely must have in a SHTF scenario. Rifle and........................
ETA: On the move scenario not hunkered down. |

many factors:
Your location Location of your destination Distance between the two Season Number in your party. You are going to want to keep your gear to a minimum. You are in transit to a planned retreat or bug out location. Weapon, ammo, food, water. These guys that say you should carry 30 mags and engage in gun battles the entire distance are on drugs. You have mags and weapons to get you out of a jam and help ensure that you get to your destination. Getting into gun battles is the last thing you want to do. |

How often does life care about what you want?
Heh. I love these SHTF threads. I dunno about you guys but I WOULDN'T want to live in a SHTF situation where I would have to hunt to survive and build my own little huts for shelter for the rest of my life. People don't prepare because they want to live out a mad max movie. Well, a few do, but not the vast majority. The vast majority of people who prepare do so out of the simple realization that bad things can happen, and that basic precautions are justified time and again. OP, poke through the SHTF forum here. Outdoors->Survival and Preparedness and Zombies. You'll find a lot more discussions about food, water, radios, shelter, and medical care, than you will about guns or ammo. |
