| I have a question for the mighty ARFCOM.. First off let me say that i have a CWP in NY that is honored in AZ. Right now i am living in AZ. open carry is legal down here and i want to know is carrying IWB with my shirt tucked in exposing the butt and maybe 1/2 inch of my slide good enough for open carry. I don't open carry a lot but it would be convenient for washing car, and taking out the trash for when i don't feel like wearing 2 shirts or a cover garment. Money is really tight and right now i cannot afford to buy a new holster. |

Quoted: If you have a CWP that is good in AZ you can carry however you like. AZ law says that a majority of the holster must be visible for it to be non-concealed, though. How common is open carry there? I've spent a fair amount of time in states that allow it and never saw someone do it. Personally my idea of a relaxing weekend does not involve looking down the shaking barrel of some cop called out for "Man with gun." |

I open carry quite often here.
Every cop I've encountered has been OK with it. Open or concealed. Nobody has called the cops on me but I've had 2 50-ish men get flustered over it - separate incidents. I don't see too many people open carrying, maybe 1 a month. Most people are not very observant, I open carried yesterday and the only person that noticed in a busy restaurant was a 5 year old kid, who just stared at it. I was in a small Mexican restaurant a few months ago open carrying a 1911, 2 sheriffs deputies walked in, my weapon was clearly visible from their point of view, they did not seem to notice it or acknowledge me in any way. |

I see open carry all of the time.. Looks like i cant open carry with an IWB.. Oh well.. I Have seen a few maybes on concealed. If there is a lot of CCW going on it seems like they keep it pretty well concealed. Up in NY people printed all of the time.. Like I said, if you have a valid permit, you can carry concealed, open, whatever. If you are near Tucson send me an IM, I could loan you a holster if I have a suitable one. |

Lots of good camping out here. Depending on your definition of camping (RV/drive to campsite/hike to campsite/scale sheer cliff then hike to campsite) a lot is available. Mt. Lemmon is close (drive to campsite) and has nice views but bring your heavy clothing this time of year. Catalina State Park has campsites accessible by car and some good hiking is available too. |
