NJ still has a fair ammount of blueberry, peach, and cranberry farms...as well as a few apple orchards....
It's just that the politics are damned fucked up in that state.... the property taxes and the car insurance rates are out of this world...and the gun laws suck ass. I escaped |

I wouldn't miss the assholes and politics of this place, but I would definitely miss stuff like this. These pictures don't do the rest of this reservation justice though. The 9/11 memorial is just wonderful. |

The 9/11 memorial is just wonderful. Spent most of my time in the southern area of the state...still have some freinds and family back their....tempted to go back for a visit one of these days. Northern NJ looks almost Like West Virginia....Deleware water gap is beautiful...hard to believe it is part of the state... Wharton State Forrest, and Batsto (first iron foundry in the U.S....bog iron) in the southern area of the state is kind of neat.... Somewhere in the Pine Forrest of NJ, off of route 72 IIRC, their is a memorial to the first blueberry farmers in america...big stone memorial....smack out in the middle of the woods...damndest thing I ever saw....neat stuff in the pines....if you go to the right places, you can even see the stone foundations of some of colonial homes. Lots of history in the Pine Barrens + the Jersey Devil. |

I love revolutionary times stuff, and there's lots of great things to find in NJ. Hiking through the woods is a great escape from the BS around here, and there's always interesting stuff to find. |
| Grew up in E. Brunswick in the 60's, (think 'The Wonder Years'––except I didn't have a "Winnie") and used to horse back ride down in Indian Mills (Pine Barrens), and yeah, down there, you'd never know you were in NJ. . . feels like the deep South . . . .but there are many very nice areas in the Garden State. . . |

Nice foilage. Any guns or have your masters taken them all? Well, I'm not 21 yet so I can't legally own anything, but my dad has a pretty sizable collection (compared to your average NJ citizen). I had to help him move them out of the house when he divorced and it took two trips in his truck.

I hear you on the history of the state. I lived in Hoboken for about three years. As a Colorado guy the best part about it was all the history that was within an hour or two drive. NJ is surprisingly beautiful outside of the Newark/NYC corridor. And the people are great. Gun laws, corruption, and taxes are another story. I'm glad I had the chance to live there but I'm also pleased not to be there anymore. |

I was cruising around the Pine Barrens yesterday thinking the same thing. It's perfect out right now.

Lots of history in the Pine Barrens + the Jersey Devil. I live down the road from Batsto. And the edge of Wharton is across the street. Beautiful area. |

My company's HQ is close to La Jolla. |

I grew up in the NW corner of NJ. Little towns of Vernon and Sparta. Its rural out there and is actually very pretty. Saying that! Its a good place to be from! I'm in Essex County, my town is mostly a suburb for yuppies that work in NYC. This reservation is one of the only places to get away from all the people and relax. |
