I make alot of it, actually. I love it.

I make both German and New England style receipts. I prefer the New England, myself.

Some people don't know the difference between cider and apple juice, but there's a handy rhyme that helps you out:

'If it's clear and yella, you've got juice there fella!  If it's cloudy and brown you're in cider town!'

Yes, but not "sweet".  I prefer the "unpasteurized"? stuff that will work over time.  I like to throw it in the back of the fridge for a month to 5 weeks before drinking.  Then it is perfect.  There is some inconsistency from year to year, but my father makes some of the best hard cider I have ever tasted.

You got juice there fella.
If it's tangy and brown,
You're in cider town.

Oh, Hell Yeah!

There's few things better on a cold night than some warm apple cider laced with a healthy dose of apple brandy (or rum, or grain alcohol, etc).

I live in New England.  Cider is mandatory.

You have to buy it at a farmstand to get the unpastuerized cider.  Anything sold is stores is unpasteurized.   They say the taste is the same, but they are full of it.   It has a nice fresh bite if it is not pasteruized.   I'm not into "aging" it or anything.

I also like mulled cider in the winter.  Hot with all the spices in it.  I had mulled cider at my Wedding in October and it was a hit.

Yes. Great stuff. I like it mixed with a good vodka too.

my family just made some last weekend... 7 or 8 gallons i guess.. we use an old cider press that has been in the family for the last 40 years or so... just upgraded  to run an electric motor instead of the hand crank.

I grow my own apples and make my own cider.  Far better than the store stuff.
