Military might or the value of your dollar doesn't make a great country. the people living there do and by that standard..we are among the best.

Perhaps the thread had run it's course, but I feel it was totally inappropriate to lock the "Why Canada Rules" thread with such an indictment against us Americans. We didn't start it. If you guys can't handle the heat, don't light the fire. I don't know why you would take it so personally, anyhow. Most of it was good natured ribbing. Lighten up.

I am a fan of Striker, so I must issue an official "No Comment."  You decide:www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?id=73027&page=4#bottom  Again, LMAO.  [:D]

Not unexpected....last week's brouhaha over eventually pissed me off when ole striker didn't even read "constructive" comments made by an old member....

Whoa, I didn't post this as a bash or a flame against Striker or any other moderator. I think he's a stand up guy, performs a valuable service (for free, I might add), in general does a good job of it, and I appreciate that he is willing to help out. I just don't think it's appropriate or fair for a moderator to lock a thread but not before getting their own last licks in and posting inflammatory comments like that.

Yeah, why can't we expect and receive absolutely perfect performance from every staff/mod, every time, under all circumstances.  Nothing less than perfection will do.  I am so pissed off I think I will continue to post here and spend time here at every opportunity.  This place sucks.  It sucks so much I love it.  Before anyone takes this seriously, please reread it.  LOL  We love you, Striker.  [:D]  (Not in a man-love sort of way, so don't get your hopes up, eh?)

Ok, because a Canadian was proud of his country he was attacked by alot of people on this board as though being proud of Canada is hating the US. You people put what person this person said down when they NEVER said anything about the US being inferior in any way.

Canada has its goods and bads, but so does the US. I dont try to imagine or put down any american since I am not an american and do not have a full idea of what its like to be american. But you also have no right to put down Canada because you are not Canadian. Mistakes, laws, goverment don't make a country, its people does, and unless you are one of those people, I recommend you shut up.

I guess for some of you its too hard to admit the only thing that makes us really different is a imaginary line that was created on paper.

And one other thing--a sense of humor.  We were just jerking your meat.  (That means kidding.)

If Canada's so great, why is Jim Carey becoming a US citizen?

Is it that obvious?

I agree some of the posts were in jest..but some were not. This cross border sniping happens every time someone posts something about Canada and it's growing old. I don't think my comment is any more inflammatory then some of the others in the thread. I guess my national pride got the better of me in my comment and I apologize if it offended some of you. It wasn't directed at Americans as a whole, just the ones who seem to enjoy making derogatory sarcastic comments about a neighbor that has never done anything I'm aware of to deserve the ridicule. and on top of that..I'm having a bad hair day.[:)]

That may be so, but come on, really, you honestly can't expect for one of your fellow countrymen to start a thread here entitled "Why Canada Rules" without catching some degree of flak.

That's alright, though. Thanks for the civil, tempered response despite your having a bad hair day.  [:)]

Wrong.  Carrey's currently unmarried at present and is studying for the citizenship exam.  Can't say I blame him for trying to better himself.
