Anyone have a problem with these? $120.00 shipped a good price?

Good lowers, fair price.  I get them for $95 locally.

excellent lower, one of the toughest anodized finishes I've seen, price seems a little bit high if you have to add in an FFL transfer. All things considered though I wouldn't worry about a few extra bucks.

Best looking lowers I've ever seen. You could put it in a glass case as a firearms display, the finish is so good.  Plus, it's got a cat on it.

I have one. The only problem, if you want to call it one, is that some of my magazines fit tighter than others in the mag well and are snug to seat or don't drop free.

As good as 95% of what's out there.  Check AIM Surplus, they might have something else a little cheaper.

how about the uppers?  Same finish I know, but reliability wise how are they?

I have 2 DPMS stripped lowers with no problems. One has a RRA 9mm upper and LPK on it, the other has a Stag upper and LPK. Fit and finish is good in both cases.

RRA 9mm upper:

I'd skip their bolts.

I'm not sure if they parkerize under the FSB.

Yes, they are fine.

I think that all of the lowers on the market are okay these days.

The possible exception is Olympic.

I have one I built a lower receiver with. I used their lower parts kit and stuck a Bushmaster uppper receiver/barrel on it. Everything works.

I've used Colt and  NHMTG 20s and CMMG 30s in it with no problems. I'd buy another.

I built my wife's M4 lookalike on a DPMS and was not impressed with the quality of the lower at all. It had machining burrs left all over it, and I ended up having to put a set of KNS pins in it because the FCG pin holes were oversize and the pins were walking out of the receiver. I'll never buy another DPMS lower.

Not a lower, but I used the DPMS parts kit to build up a Spike's lower, the kit was fine.

How old is the lower? I bought both of mine in 2004 and they are just as good as my Colt, Spikes, and Bushmaster.

There is only like 3-4 companies building AR lowers in the US.

Anyhow, I got a couple of DPMS receivers and zero issues. I broke both rifles in useing Monarch steel casings as well.

Maybe a year and a half? I can't recall exactly when I built it, but it hasn't been that long ago.

Did you contact DPMS? What does the serial number start with? I never had a problem, but was wondering if things changed since they are owned by Cerebus (like Remington and Bushmaster).

Nope, never did. My profession makes me more aware of things like that...and to date it's the only AR I've built so I really didn't know if that was common or not. The lower was purchased before Cerebus bought DPMS. I'll stick to RRA or other brands.

Here is an artical that may help a little on lowers.

It states there is only four companies currently producing lower AR receivers.
AR lower info

for example:

LAR = Grizzly, Bushmaster (L Prefix), Ameetech, (?)DPMS, CMMG, Double Star, Fulton, Spike's Tactical, Noveske (new)

Anyhow, I multiple brands like Bushmaster, RRA, DPMS and couldn't tell the difference besides price. The quality seems great and they all eat steel cased ammo without jamming once.

A friend had a similar issue with a Spike's lower and Stag parts kit.

I've done two Spike's lowers with DPMS parts kits and have had good luck.

I'm sure there's some poor slob out there with a Colt, LMT, or Mega lower that's had problems too.
