Im enjoying a tasty Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA I also have a 4-pack of the Dogfish Head Punkin' Ale in the fridge... What about everyone else? |
|
60 minute here, with Victory Storm King up next. The punkin' was great this year, I think I might still have another 4-pack in storage. I've got some 90 minute laying around but honestly, I like the 60 better. If you're a DFH fan, you should be pleased to know that... A 2008 release of Pangea is CONFIRMED. They destroyed GABF with it and the 750s should hit shelves within a few weeks. I won't even say anything about the dupe...

Im going to have to try that I cant wait for the Chicory Stout to come out in December...it is my all time favorite DFH... though there is a bunch I have yet to try. |
Aw, man... last year's was... OK, now my wife says it's the best beer she's ever had. I'm a little more reluctant to slap the "best ever" title on anything but... well, the Pangea is/was worthy of all the praise given to it. It was just an outstanding beer. Moderately challenging, fully rewarding, supremely balanced... it had a group of 4 of us fighting over the last few drops in the bottle. You can drink Belgians your whole life and Pangea will still show you a thing or two you didn't know. It's damn good beer. If you like the chicory (and I loved last year's batch), have you tried the Palo Santo yet? Because... Well, it's easily the best new beer of 2008 (so far), no question. |
wow, the Punkin' Ale is pretty good...the pumpkin lingers in the after taste, but the Cinnamon and nutmeg are right there...extremely tasty and not over-done like some other "flavored" beers. |
that stuff will whip you ass in a good way

I also will be cracking the DFH punkin' tonight. I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND Southern Tier Imperial IPA and Three Floyd's Dreadnaught OF course, my home brew clones are excellent as well |
Storm King is good stuff. |
It certainly was! I would drink another, but... well, at 10% ABV it's easy to go overboard. I'll just enjoy it at another time. Funny thing about this stuff, it just ages superbly and every step along the way is enjoyable. It's not like some beers where young it has one charagter and old it has another. Storm King goes through multiple changes over the period of a year and even beyond that are all enjoyable in their own little way. I highly recommend doing what I did - buy a case of it for yourself sometime and drink one of them every two weeks for a year. Take notes if you must but I think you'll notice the changes quite readily. Side note - I had it on cask at the brewpub... honestly, in this format, it is peerless. |
my last palo Santo is in the back of the fridge, fantastic beer, as are most DFH products, had a hen's tooth last night, started tonight with a holy grail ale (monty python!), and finished with a Sam Smith taddy, |
