I just saw this on Drudge, I hope its not a dupe They are predicting an Obama landslide victory www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews1604.html |
It is a dupe in the sense that we get multiple "chicken little" posts every day based on polls. Once again, IGNORE THE POLLS. |
I should first say, I AM NOT AN OBAMA SUPPORTER AND I BELIEVE MCCAIN IS GOING TO WIN. However... I'm finding these threads hilarious, because the same people who told me "Zogby/Ramussen" whatever polls are infallible during the primaries, and now telling me how worthless they are now that they say something they don't want to hear. |
Yes we do but this is the big story on Drudge right now...It kinda made me sick. |
|
The George Washington University / Battleground Poll has been and is the most accurate. Look at the past predictions. ![]() ![]() GWU/BATTLEGROUND |
None, actually. Most are mere snapshots of a single point in time, which in most cases doesn't come close to resembling what will happen on election day. Also, the internals are inherently important because they skew heavily towards Dem wins based on registration of voters and assumptions of pollsters, in addition to self-reporting by those polled. The latter being important because conservatives/Republicans are less likely to reveal detail that libs/dems. Did you catch the article written by A. Coulter on the history of polls and how they always seem to favor Dems as far as results go, but historically have overestimated the vote for Dems, and underestimated the vote for Republican candidates? Good read. And remember, the greater Obama's lead in the polls, the less likely a lot of first-time voters and lazy race-voters will be to actually vote. All that bodes well for us and not them. Now just pray it's crappy weather. |
Let's give Socialism a 4 year chance to ruin the Democratic Party and bolster the Republican Party. |
It is to PSYCHED UP people to fight harder - some people will fight hardest when they feel they're cornered. I am one of them. I am going to go to the nearest McCain headquarter to volunteer TODAY. This is the FIRST time I've ever volunteer for an election in my last time. Fight, people, fight!!!! Our country's survival depends on you! Fight! |
I feel kinda stupid now ... why should I or any one else get upset over these lies. That GWU poll looks more like what I thought the race looked like. |
Mother FUCK! That poll was TIED last night!
|
|
Obama will win. That's a done deal. And yeah, I hate it as much as you do. But the REAL issue is "How big of a majority wiil the Democrats gain in Congress?" If they get a 'super-majority," Obama and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid can push through every socialist program they can dream up. Then you can REALLY start worrying. |
Done deal, huh? Wimp. |
You can count on that I will not go quietly. |
+1 just make sure to go vote! |
If you look at the chart of Bush and Kerry in 2004, the chart is very similar to the chart just posted. The only difference being Bush had the lead back then. So if the battle ground poll is the most accurate, then barring some major event that changes the balance of things, Obama is going to win. McCain needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat if he is going to pull this off. |

Let's see Zogby an Arab American that is decidely liberal is calling a landslide even though there really is nothing that factually indicates that? How many oh no the polls threads are we going to have today? It seems like folks see a thread see that it gets a few replies and says hmmmm I'll do a similar thread. |
That is not me, I just worked my ass off for 10 hours last night, and am up waiting for the big brown truck and went to the Drudge report. The headline Reads "LANDSLIDE LIKE REAGAN" and that kinda freaked me out...I mean really just go to the drudge report, this is their top story. www.drudgereport.com/ |
Who claimed Zogby was infallible? ![]() I've told people to ignore him for a couple of election cycles, and yes, Scott Rasmussen is among the best out there right now. When he says 10% I'll start to worry big time. John's brother James Both John and James have some questionable ties and John used to be a favorite of the political establishment until he started doing more corporate polling and developed a reputation of telling his clients what they wanted to hear. Very few people take him seriously inside political circles and haven't for awhile. |
You're forgetting the BRADLEY EFFECT. A certain percent of the people will vote differently once they get in the voting booth and not answering polling questions on the phone or in public. |
Would you shut the fuck up you whiny cunt! It was not tied yesterday, it was a 1 point Obama lead yesterday and today it is 2. That is normal variation in rolling averages. For God's sake you excite way too fucking easily. Last week Obama was WAY up in that poll and there has been a steady decline, tightening from a 13 point Obama lead to 1 and now 2. Would you fucking calm down already? I swear you have no stomach for this at all if going from being 1 point behind to 2 points behind has your panties knotted up in your mangina! ![]() Seriously man, ENOUGH! |

It's starting to take shape and we'll know more by next weekend. That's an eternity in politician years. The polls have been somewhat consistent over the last couple of weeks and that should be disturbing if you're on the wrong end of it. If I were in charge of the Republican's coordinated campaign efforts I'd be seriously close to tossing McCain overboard and trying to save as many Congressional and Senate seats as possible. That's a risky move at this point for a variety of reason. If he can't make up some ground quickly then it's time to minimize losses. They could still possibly save enough legislators to prevent getting their entire agenda derailed. Normally I'm one to say you dance with the one that brought you. If he loses, McCain is finished in his Presidential aspirations. I'm not entirely convinced that the powers-that-be will embrace Palin. The guys I see coming out of this mess the best are Mike Huckabee (who I really like) and Romney (who I think is a bit problematic). |
Zogby, whoopdie fuckin do |
Did you get struck by lightning yesterday? Well clearly this weather myth is a liberal conspiracy. ![]() Public education has clearly failed. People do not understand how math works. In another thread, someone is complaining he's only been polled a few times. |
I for one am glad you are not in charge of the campaign! |

Just look at the various polls to see how little anyone knows at this point. They agree that BO is in the lead, but with a pretty wide variance in the size of that lead. There are really too many unknown factors for anyone to make an accurate prediction. Will all those newly registered black voters show up? Is there really a Bradley effect? Is there a reverse Bradley effect? If Obama looks inevitable based on polls, will that affect voters? Apparently the number of people refusing to talk to pollsters is growing. Is there a correlation to how they will vote? And what about all the "undecideds" - are they really undecided or just not saying? If they're still undecided at this point, will they really stand in line when it counts? Will they split 50/50 or lean heavily toward one side or the other? How will the electoral college factor in? These are national polls, and it doesn't necessarily correspond to how each state will vote. IMO, a lot of Obama voters want everyone within earshot to know that they are voting THE ONE, and McCain voters tend to keep a lower profile. Does this indicate a record Dem turnout, or a shocking win from the GOP Silent Majority? No one knows. Most importantly, don't lose hope and give up before all the official results are in. Be sure to vote, no matter how long and cold the line is, or how inevitable the outcome seems. But do try to convince the opposition that it is already over and the big O can win even without their vote. Republicans play to win, bitches. |
Of course he is. He's 73 fricken years old. If the messiah were to win he would of course get two terms which would make McCain 81 at the next election. Now I know his mother is a pretty spry 96 year old but I just don't see McCain making another run. |

No fucking pouting, we don't pout during presidential campaigns! Go make another $100.56 donation to Let Freedom Ring as your penance and buck the fuck up! |
![]() I just sent $100 to the campaign itself while you were typing, AS PENANCE! Get out of my fucking head! You've calibrated me! Now move on to someone else! ![]()
