| Obama targets are illegal, I heard the gunstore owner tell a guy. It is considered making a threat against a candidate. True? What about free speech ;) |
There's an article in this month's Guns Magazine about the zombie targets. "I think there's even a group for the "Protection of Big Ugly Knife-Wielding White Guys." |
|
Actually we were at a 3 gun match once. and it was noted that the "Dark" targets were the "Shoot" targets and the "White" targets were the NO SHOOT targets, the "Empty Hands" targets had black hands, the "ARMED" targets also had black hands... While working as an RO at a range during the John Kerry run I had to tell some guys that they could not put up a target of John Kerry as a target. Same reason, not only is it bad taste but it is a really bad Idea! |
Islamic Arab terrorist type targets not sold where you are? Mostly there are NO stereotypical OTW images allowed period. |
|
Generally speaking, it's never a good idea to make targets with a recognizable individual's face on it unless they're already dead, and even then it's really not cool. I wouldn't even put a bullet hole sticker on an Obama roundel on someone's car. It might sound funny and I might do it on such a a sticker in my own collection of election memorabilia, but I wouldn't be displaying it. CJ |

So, should I not round up the campaign signs after the election to use as targets? I have been told that the ones with the two metal spikes in them work really well, was planning on trying it this year (there are a bumper crop of them). Or can I only use the ones from republican candidates for fear of offending the "hope and change" crowd? |
Do what you want with the signs, but do not, repeat, do not desecrate the Obamamerican flag |

This is the most ridiculous thread ever. Democrats: burning flags, pictures and life size effigies of bush or anyone else they damn well please is great. someone shooting at a target of a national politician, while in poor taste possibly, should not be cause for arrest. We are scared of our own shadows, and are so damn wrapped up in trying not to hurt anyone's feelings that we're driving ourselves into the ground. You want to shoot at a target with my face on it? Fine. I don't care. as long as it's not me, but a picture, who cares. I shoot at targets with pictures of my own families faces pasted on them. If I ever have to shoot at someone who's holding a family member hostage, I don't want the sight of my own kin's faces in the sight picture to rattle me. shooting at a picture of the beetles, obama, bush, clinton, terrorists, black guys, white guys, purple guys, ugly women, terrorists, puppies or zombies should be just fine. as long as you aren't writing threatening letters to said officials and or stalking them all the time, what is the harm? Other than being sort of strange, what would the possible cause be to arrest someone for something like that? It's ridiculous. |
what he did, but with No. 2 |
The problem is not the doing the deed, it is idiots photographing or videoing it and then posting it on the net, do not add fuel to the fire!!! lest the ban hammer come down from on high! |
