"taxation without representation is tyranny." Since our voting system has been allowed to become compromised & exploited, does this not mean that the "public tust" of the system is dead or dying? And if no one trusts the ouput of that voting system, that WE ARE PAYING FOR, are we in fact now in a state of being taxed without "trusted" representation? This is why even though I am going to vote, I will not believe the results. Personnally I think any election tampering needs to be rewarded with summary public execution of all parties involved. p.s. sorry it's not much of a rant. F' YOU |
But our primary means of influencing our idiot is by voting for them. I call & write, but I would say that for most of the public, they vote & that's it. So since their vote is suspect, are we really represented if in fact the votes are rigged? |
| A lot of people say if you don't vote, you can't bitch. I say, bullshit. If the choices are bad and worse, who do you vote for? I think the 2 party system is almost as bad as a benevolent dictator. The system is rigged, by the 2 parties, so any other party is excluded. During the presidential debates, did you see any other party represented other than the republicans and the democrats? I didn't either. However there are several other parties on the ballot in a lot of states. A lot of people say these lesser parties don't pull many votes. If I remember right, the govenor of MN used to be an independant, and these parties will stay small unless they are allowed to be heard in the media. |
Heh. I remember hearing someone in the DPJ (Democratic Party of Japan) say that their only reason for existence was to lose to the LDP (Liberal Democratic Party). Japanese Political Parties Media. I think it's very much part of the problem. Of course if you can control the media, then you can "drown out" all the other parties easily. |

If you remember 2 elections ago, when Ralph "the nutcase" Nader ran, and fucked Algore out of the presidency. They didn't include Ralphie in the debates. Why? The League of Women Voters, which held the debate, never really came out and said why. My thinking on the matter is, the LWV is a sub part of the 2 parties which are actually one party, which has 2 factions, which fight among themselves over the spoils of the American economy. Take a look at the Republicans which are supposed to be the party of small government, and tight fiscal spending. Are they? Now look at the Democrats, the party of the little man and big government programs. Are they? If you ask me, they are all the same. They all want more government and big programs. The only difference is the details. Otherwise, both parties are pretty much the same. It only comes down to where they spend the money, not how much. Since I am the one forking over the money, I am concerned about the how much part. Take a look at this election cycle. Have you noticed that both candidates are all about out planning each other. Everyone has a plan to make your life better. They never say they are going to make your life better by increasing taxes and bureaucracy, but that is really what they are saying. We think you would be a lot happier standing in a line at a government building, and filling out forms. If a candidate really wanted to get me behind them, all they would have to say, would be, vote for me, I am going to remove half of the government from your life, and cut your taxes in half, in my first term. I'd send the guy a thousand bucks. Most people in this country would dismiss him as a loon. I think in the back of people's minds, they think these government programs really are free, and better than you could get in the private sector. I also think, this is because they really don't have a clue how much these programs really cost, and if the programs weren't there, how much more they could take home each week. I just went through hurricane Ike in September. It was bad down here. FEMA and the state shows up and starts distributing ice, food and water. For most of the people down here, they all still had water. People like me, who live out in the country and depend on a well, were the only people who probably didn't have a source of drinking water. I'm sure all the people in the cities had water. So why do they distribute drinking water? They didn't used to do this. Nobody died. I'm sure if you didn't have any drinking water, drove into town ad asked someone if you could fill up some jugs with some water for drinking, they would probably fill them for you and then help you carry the jugs out to the car. I would probably tell you, that when you ran out, to come back and help yourself. We don't need FEMA, and we don't need the state to baby sit us in a disaster. We're supposed to be adults, and capable of taking care of ourselves. Obviously, during the past decade, this has not been the case. I always here about this neighbor helping neighbor. The only time I see this, the neighbor is Uncle Sam, and he is helping himself to my wallet. |
I can tell you that: A) I have never missed an election, B) I have never met a representative that had views anything like mine |
