I had made a bunch of posts in another thread making some arguments that were ridiculed without actual response (the posts became less and less tied to the OP, I admit). I tried to elicit a counterargument in the hopes of getting an intelligent discussion going, which failed miserably. So I posted this outside of the original thread to see if there was anybody actually on my side - at least in terms of maintaining a rational discussion, with actual structured arguments on each side instead of repsonses such as "That's so stupid I'm not even going to say why." Turns out, I am in the vast minority. I figured as much, but didn't expect to see how small it was. |
You made a blanket statement then defined down or refused to define terms. That's not logical argument its sophistry. You advocate the state sanctioned killing/execution of people who commit pre-meditated acts of vandalism. Of course, you never define what you mean by the part in blue so you can later play sophistic games and get all indignant at people's assumptions. You also agree with people who spout logical fallacies and compliment them on their logical thinking. No one in their right mind will argue with someone who plays childish games and refuses to define terms and clearly state premises. Don't get butt-hurt b/c people refuse to have their time wasted. |
