i set up an older computer i had put away for my daughter to get on, but when i turned it on the CPU fan makes a loud noises.

i want to buy a new fan and heatsink but cant quite figure out the size.

its an asrock MB 775i65g, with an intel 865g chipset.

anyone know where i can find the fan and heatsink size?  when i plug the numbers into newegg's search function it just sends me to two heatsinks, and no fan.

wrong info. give us the processor type. cpu heatsink formfactors are based on the CPU socket type.

edit: lga 775. click here for heatsinks and fans

Find a local shop.

They usually have old parts laying around.

Try blowing the dust out of the fan with compressed air.
