So I might be dumb, but how do you fill them?  It doesn't look like there are any holes in the mold, unless there is a small one where the primer would be to fill the mold once it's placed together.
10/8/2008 6:34:47 AM EDT
[#12]
Thats a great idea!

Submerge in water.  Close.

It says fill one half then close on the webpage...dont forget that ice expands as it freezes...

Though it'll likely be frosty white, not crystal like in the pics...

That looks like a European site.  Any retailers here in the US of A?

I love it but I cant get myself to order from outside the USA.

You fill the bottom tray all the way to the top, and press the top tray on, which forces water into the top half of the bullet.

Funny, the UK of all places has "AK-47 bullet ice cube molds".

Hmm I think it might be cheape and easy to make some ice cube bullet molds.

Wouldn't you just use some clay and plastic wrap to make a mold?

That way you could make them in your favorite calibers and not just 7.62X39

Wonder if it'll cycle?

I fired an ice round though my spud gun once.  It made a BIG hole in 1/4" plywood.

Ice does not expand by 100%
I think the fill in water bucket to about 75-85% would make complete Ice molds.

That's assuming that each part of the mold is 50%

Possible that one part is 80% and the other is 20% or so.

Perfect shape for sliding out of a glass and right into the throat, then lodging there.  I smell 'lawsuit.'

If you fill your (cube, bullet mold, watever) ice trays with warm water, you get less cloudiness and bubbles in the ice.

Twice boiled distilled water will get that crystal clear look.

I hereby nominate Mark LaRue for this task.

Looks cool, and they are on sale right now too... But damn, 35-45 pounds for shipping to the US. I'll wait till someone in the US starts stocking them

ETA - none on eBay yet, but someone IS selling ice cube trays that make little grenade halves

Call your card issuer - they can give you a temp card # for the transaction. I order from the UK often - I've never had an issue with my regular card. They are known vendors tho.

Luck
