Now that the temps will be dropping out of the shorts and t shirt range, I need a new jacket.
I'm looking for something not too expensive, but works well with business casual or at the range. It has to stand up to water and wind ok, but otherwise, doesn't need to be super warm as it doesn't get too cold here in Tucson.
Any recommendations?
I'd really hate to have to wander around a mall till I found something I like.

TAD Gear

The Explorer Jacket in Rhino Hide is on sale for $150, normally $250.

If you've never owned TAD Gear goodies, you don't know what you are missing. Excellent quality, with limited production runs. US made.

If I didn't already own 85 jackets, I'd prolly get one...

I have a cold fusion, but they are expensive, custom made and take six weeks. Great jacket but I would think you could find something at campmor for less.

A range jacket won't work for business casual. You'll get gun oil or some other crap on it.

might be warm for arizona anyways, it's too hot for anything over about 55 degrees particularly if you are running or hiking

I wandered around the mall today, looking like an idiot for a nice jacket.

I ended up going home and drooling over the TAD website, trying to justify a $200 jacket and trying to figure out which Wells Fargo I need to knock over for the cash.

Consider this a tag.

Well Id like to wear it to work, so it can't be BDU type jacket, but at the same time I don't want it to be too nice that a little dirt at the range would ruin it,

TAD and Arc'terex is good stuff that sees a lot of use among some of the "special" operators.  I just cant get myself to pony up 150+ bones for a soft shell.

I compromised with an LL Bean softshell on sale for about $40.

While not as high tech and fewer bells and whistles as the TAD and ArcTerex designs, I dont feel as bad dripping food on it or tearing it on anything.

If you do like the TAD stuff, they are having a clearance on some of their styles.
