What the hell is going on? Are there that many poor, stupid people in America wanting obama to win? Has everyone lost their common sense? |
For the first time Obama took the lead among male voters... that worries me. I'm normally upbeat, but if Rasmussen is reporting he is losing among men I have to ask WTF? The good news is 14% of voters say they could switch still, so its not over, but there are a lot of stupid people who are buying into Boooooosh III! |
Well if you can believe the polls, it's because of the economic situation, and for some reason the ignorant and uninformed which account for a large % of Americans believe BHO has a better plan for the economy. And worse, the socialists are trying to paint the economic crisis, which is largely THEIR fault, as the result of policies advocated by Bush and McCain....and they seem to be relatively successful thus far with that fabrication, largely due to the aid of the MSM. |
correct, its a perception issue on the economy. Tomorrow night is the Townhall Debate which should be pretty big for McCain as it is his preferred venue and a chance to connect to the voters. |
The media outlets are cooking the polls as usual. They always do this. They take initial polls that show it close. Then as we get closer to election day they retake their polls, only the second time around they poll fewer Republicans. So more responses are in favor of Obama, so it looks like he is gaining support. |
Well, I don't see the slide we've experienced over the past two weeks continuing. Right now, he seems to be holding steady. I am relived to see Palin out and swinging for the fences, because that's what put McCain ahead after the convention. Hopefully, we will see a steady increase in McCain support, and if what I've heard is true, then in races this close the guy who is moving UP when the election happens is the guy that wins. All this having been said, McCain needs to dust off the ad-making machine he had going pre-convention and kick it into high gear. He needs to unleash Palin, and then HE needs to stop being such a whiny POS RINO and start naming NAMES, not "wal street", not "corporate greed". He needs to hammer the fact that the entire mortgage "crisis" can be laid at the door of Obama, Schumer, Dodd, Frank, and the asshole former Fannie Mae CEO who committed fraud, got million-dollar bonuses for it, and is now on Obama's campaign as a senior advisor. Let's hope. Time is short.
You just ruined my fucking day.
| Well the polls don't reflect the recent decision to start hitting Obama, that will take a week to start to show as the media will resist covering it, but momentum will build and they will have to start addressing it, even if it is an effort to discredit it. A week from now should be telling. |
maybe I should have said "concerns" me? I was answering the question as to what is going on. Rasmussen is indicating for the first time Obama leads among men, that is not a steady performance. So who knows if it is a fluke or what? I said the good news is 14% say they might switch their vote... that is good news. Chill. |
Quit it you two! I am upbeat, Palin is swinging, barry's associations are being exposed, even if it is only on FOX, Alec Baldwin is blaming Clinton and the dem's for the Fannie, and all they can throw at McCain is Keating Five...... The registering of voters ends today in most places, so the lazy welfare teat sucking dems in waiting will be waiting for another 4 years. LIFE is looking up! |
Who are they polling. If its the guy I was hanging out with this weekend then McCain needs to get on the air and talk about football and what sports teams he likes. Guy this weekend said he wanted to vote for Obama because Obama liked the Steelers of the 1970s (AKA the Steel Curtain). Maybe if McCain says he likes a little foosball and NASCAR he'll pull ahead.
Two possible reasons IMO: 1. The media wishes it to be so. Remember the polls during Bush/Gore then Bush Kerry? 2. McCain screwed up. Those on the right that finally felt like they had a conservative voice expressed in the nomination of Palin, got a jolt of the old maverick when McCain went back and supported the Senate bailout plan. Especially after going back and appearing to support the Republicans in the House that were opposing the Dem BO (that's bailout, not Barry Obama or body odor, although all three stink and are offensive). Given McCain's action we are now back to the 'lesser of evils' vote. Nobody is excited about that. |
Somebody please check the temperature in hell. I felt a chill just now... |
Amazing, isn't it? Broken clock, and all that. I'm just glad that Palin now has Obama responding to HER. GO SARAH! |
His wife owns a Drift Team and my local car/racing forum is pretty split.

He's falling behind because people in this nation are stupid and have figured out that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury. They want to "save their 401k's" (or at least do what they THINK will save their 401k's) instead of doing what is right. I think this quote is very fitting to what is currently going on: "A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years." |

There are only so many people voting for McCain because he's not Obama. You don't win by being the alternative. You win by being the guy who generates enthusiasm and a vision of the future. The non-ideologue sees McCain like their grandfather; a wise, experienced person who isn't going to be around for very long. Those people are willing to make an investment in Obama who they know will be in the game longer than McCain and they believe he will grow into a leader over time. That's not the way we think, which is too bad for us. |
Well I look at the AOL straw poll a few times a week and it always shows a McCain landslide. AOL Straw Poll |
1. Obama is a Democrat = + 25% 2. Obama speaks very well = + 10% 3. Obama is young, black and 'cool' = +5% 4. The Media controls what people notice, think and talk about = +5% 5. McCain & The Republicans absolutely SUCK at getting a clear message out =+3% 6. Bush-fatigue and an economic 'crisis' a month before an election =+2% Add that up and it's about 50% and where Obama sits in the polls. |
I really hope he makes good use of it. ![]() One other factor that that needs to be considered when asking why obama is ahead is money. Obama bought $45 million in airtime in FL alone, and hes doing the same in the other swing states. Attack adds do work, and if obama outspends McCain 4 to 1 nationally and 10 to 1 in some of the swing states, thats gonna leave a mark. Thanks to his reneging on his promise to accept and be limited to Federal matching funds, obama can spend the equivalent of McCains entire war chest on just a few states with plenty left to attack in what should be safe Red States. |
Like I said last year.. The Keaton 5 issue would come up in October. People here laughed and some were clueless about it. People will listen even more now that the economy is being forced to tank by the Demophiles and their overseas Commiephiles that support Obama. McCain will look like George H. Bush did in 1992 by the end of the month. |
Keating 5 won't really get any traction, it is a small distraction thet the campaign won't even waste any resources on. McCain was cleared. End of story..... |
This concerns me. Has anyone seen the respective numbers? Has Obama been called out on his breaking that promise? And is the spending disparity really that great? -K |
I don't think it is stupid people at all. I'll tell you why... This will piss of many but tis the sad truth In all reality the GOP has done a shit job since the contract with America. Instead of actually producing the goods after the contract they wasted valuable time on a shitty witch hunt on Clinton. For God's sake if you are going to waste time and money like that at least come up with a good case and win it. Oh and BTW might be a good idea to not have a good percentage of the GOP fucking around on their wives just before or during the scandal. Umm don't be a war hero pilot in Congress taking bribes and getting convicted. (Cunningham) Jack Abramoff Stay out of men's room stalls picking up other men if you are part of the moral high ground group in Congress lashing out against the "fags" and "abortionist." Might wanna refrain from sending spicy IMs to male Congressional Pages if you are a middle aged man from Florida. Tom Delay what a nightmare. MR High and Mighty he may not have been convicted but there is enough evidence to where I'd never trust him with my money or my vote. War in Iraq. Ok I STILL agree on going to war there. I am probably one of the few that still think Bush is doing the right thing. BUT I totally disagree with the way they have handled the war, the press and other media. I disagree with them letting the press walk all over them. Frankly I think Bush has some freaking shit for brains advisors. Except Rove I like him. No idea why just think he is a smart, sharp guy. GOP has done nothing it was supposed to do and they gave Congress away to the Dems. Our own internal bullshit in the party. The he is a RINO or she isn't conservative enough. We have basically eaten our own young since Bush was elected. Seriously the GOP looks like a group of angry cranking sumbitches just lashing out at each other. I am sure that folks think that because I want us to clean up our own damned party that I am a socialist. BTW stop calling everything socialist it looks stupid. And Finally You take all that stuff above you run a charismatic young blackman with a powerful presence, you keep reminding the American people that they gave the GOPP a chance and they blew it and you get Obama. It is amazing to me the polls are even that close. The American people WANT to do the right thing and elect McCain they want us to be a strong well respected country. but the GOP keeps shooting itself in the foot. We gotta stop this moral high ground bullshit. We simply do not as a party deserve that title. We need to remind ourselves that small government means stay the fuck out of people's business. Especially if the crap going on with our leaders makes Larry Flynnt look like a decent guy. I mean holy hell what is wrong with our leaders. We need to stop electing dirtbags. Small government that minds its own damn business and stands for freedom. If you do the right thing and behave than you don't have to announce you are some super moral group folks will see it in your actions. It is pretty easy. |
no no and yes |
Especially by going back and basically only being seen as voting for it. He does this big dramatic move by suspending his campaign and then nothing. Silence. McCain goes there and gets strapped voting for some bullshit bailout and Obama looks good coming out of it. As I told folks stupid move by the McCain camp. |
As far as I can tell Obama has not been called out on anything period ever. |
The polls DONT MEAN SHIT PEOPLE!!! The polls pull more accurate towards the election because that is when it is possible to validate the accuracy. UP TILL THEN THEY ARE MANIPULATED FOR POLITICAL GAIN. If a poll says the margin of error is +/- 4%, and the actual polls are even, you can put the guy you like up by 4 points. VIOLA!! Instant hand wringing and depression from the victimized party. STOP watching the fucking polls. |
Try to tell that to the liberal Press spin.. ![]() |
