I have a supersniper 10x42 scope that is having problems with its turret elevation.  The outer elevation sleeve is rotating with the entire scope knob.  Does anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it?  Also is anyone aware of any type of warranty on these scopes?

I have already sent an email to swfa about it.  Now I am just waiting for them to reply.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Not sure what's going on there, I have the same optic on my DPMS Panther Long Range .308, no problems. What exactly is happening? I don't get it.

when you rotate the elevation turret, The whole thing rotates about a 1/4 around in the adjustment block assembly

That is clearly a factory/production problem and should not be happening I would bet that SWFA will do what they should and replace it for you, otherwise this is an awesome scope and has done me well.

Just tell them you are blogging about it on AR15.com and their customer service results will be posted

I'm thinking about getting one of these.  Do you recommend the rear focus or the side focus?  I'll be mostly using it for 100 yrds to 200 yrds but is the fixed 10x useable at 25 yrds to 50 yards or is it too much?

It will focus down to 10M and out to infinity, I have a side focus and like it over rear focus,  But thats just my preference.   Over all its a damn good scope, You will be happy.  Mine is just having  a minor issue...  other than that I'll be putting the same model on my LRT SASS .308

I have never used this at under 100 yds. However I like the fixed power, it's just one less thing to think about.
BTW What the hell are you considering this optic for at 25 yds.?
ETA: You are not putting it on a pistol are you?

Try torqueing down the turret set screws, But apply Locktite first!
The dam things seem to work themselves loose very fast.

If only there was a forum on this site that was all about optics, or precision rifles...something like that. Then we wouldn't have to weed through threads about scopes while we look for better ways to donkey-punch geese.

The elevation tube with the horizontal marks that resides under the turret is whats moving when you rotate the elevation turret.  dont know why...  but the set screws seem to hold fine...

Do they have one?

Send it back.. Something is really broken and not anything you can do to fix it.

Call up SWFA and let them know. Sometimes they will ship a new scope before they even get the broken one back! Good people.
