I had to re-install windows after my system became overwhelmed by viruses.

Now I have windows up and running, but my hardware won't work due to the lack of drivers.

I called Dell to see if they could help, and of course they tell me my warranty is expired and I will have to pay them some arbitrary amount before they will help me.

Would anyone be so kind to help me out here?

Download the device drivers onto a flash drive on another PC, and install them on your Dell.

Know what your doing before you try and re-install...................got all drivers on cd before you start, or use the dell disc that came with it.

just go to the dell website, put in your machine ID (it's on a sticker on the machine somewhere), and it will offer the option to get your drivers.

If you don't know what hardware you have, get on another computer and see if you can get your configuration by entering your model number into the Dell website.

The drivers are likely on the dell website free to download. Burn them to CD or on a thumb drive.

Look up your model on the dell site and download all the drivers.

Which drivers do I need?

I have looked thru them all, and can't figure out which ones are needed.

Oh, K-Kid, the viruses came from Daphne Zuniga's fan site/homepage.  I was watching American dad, and they name dropped her, and I could remember who it was.  Clicked on a Google link and all Hell broke loose.

Lessons learned:

Strong firewall
Ensure System restore is curent
Ensure your anti-virus is current.

I cannot find the drivers CD, all I found is the Windows install, and modem driver disc, and both were still in their shrink wrap, which makes me think it didn't come with a drivers disc, since the other two were unopened.

You should be able to download all the needed drivers.

another suggestion would be if the PC cant connect, first get your Ethernet Controllers Driver off the net and get it installed, then take your PC out to the net.

You received two disks with your Dell - one labeled "Operating System" and the other "Drivers & Utilities."  Take a guess.
