Survey Methods
Results are based on telephone interviews with 1,011 national adults, aged 18 and older, conducted Sept. 26-27, 2008. For results based on the total sample of national adults, one can say with 95% confidence that the maximum margin of sampling error is ±3 percentage points.
Interviews are conducted with respondents on land-line telephones (for respondents with a land-line telephone) and cellular phones (for respondents who are cell-phone only).
In addition to sampling error, question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of public opinion polls.

I fail to see how interviewing 1,101 Americans out of over 300,000,000 indicates anything at all but that pollsters can come up with creative interpretations.

I mean that is just preposterous.

tough for me to say where I am on him.  domestically I think he's screwed the pooch, but internationally I think it was great we finally got a president willing to jab a stick in the eye of countries who would tell us what to do.  And say what you will, he has ALWAYS stood by his warriors as commander in chief.

I have to agree. We could do much better, but in today's political climate, you can't ask for much more. Sonsabitches. The whole lot of 'em.

The funny thing is, when you compare Bush's approval rating to that of Congress, he looks like Mr. Popularity all of a sudden.
