I am and it sucks ass.  It almost never bothers me.  I can run 3 miles with no extreme knee or back pain, I can play sports for hours on end but every once in a blue moon I get fucked.

It happened tonight.  I went to church and decided to run home(only a quarter mile or so).  I got home and on my deceleration I felt it.  A sharp, burning pain along the inside/bottom of my foot.  I don't know what the fuck I am tearing/pulling when this happens but it's the same exact thing on the same foot every time it happens, which is usually a couple of times a year.

It usually lays me up from any running/sports for a couple of days and passes.  Jumping off of the garbage truck 100+ times tomorrow is gonna be a fucking bitch.

Anyone have any idea what the deuce is going on?  Do you think some sort of shoe insole thing would work?  I have thought about trying that but I wouldn't really be able to tell if it was working or not for a long time as there are no other issues with my feet, whatsoever until this happens.

Obviously the issue this time was most likely a lack of stretching but it has happened to me before on my regular workouts in which I stretch heavily before and after.

im not flat footed but i do have a very low arch. i didnt know this until earlier this year. my knees and back would always hurt after a run. 3-9 miles. i would always get my running shoes at a sale or at a big sporting goods store. my buddy told me to go check out this little shoe store in the mall so i did. the guy measured my foot, looked at it and told me what i needed. explained to me i had a low arch and these shoes were designed for my foot.

i have not had the problems i did with these new shoes.

Here I thought it was about being a plain-clothes detective, too many hours of my youth playing WITWICS.

The doctors at MEPS said I was, but because I'm going to be an officer they said it didn't matter

Never really had knee or back problems, I'm marginally flat footed, nothing too serious.

You can see a podiatrist and they'll be able to custom make orthotic inserts. I have some, but never really wore 'em.
Meanwhile, if you take a shaving cream can or something similarly round and put it on the floor and roll it under your foot, putting preasure on the can, that might help with the pain. Kinda stretching out the bottom of yer foot.
Doing toe lifts seems to help my feet too.
As it was explained to me, because your foot has no arch, it creates a large amount of stress on the tendon/muscle that runs along the bottom of your foot. Stress that would normlly be absorbed by the flexing of an arch.
