I bought too much bacon this week and would like to freeze the remaining portion of it. Is there any way to do this and keep it fresh?

to much bacon, is like to much money.

Just eat it.

How long do you plan on keeping it? Bacon stays a while even in the fridge.

Freeze it.  No problem.

The phrase "too much bacon" is illogical and impossible. There is simply no such creature.

Cook it up and give it to homeless people.

That way you build up massive amounts of good karma so you can be a criminal later in life.

Are you new to the planet earth? Who here hasn't bought 4 packages of bacon and frozen them for future use?

I just don't get it?

You didn't buy too much bacon.

You clearly have a problem with your sense of reality.

I buy bacon 4-8lbs at a time from Sam's Club.  I wrap it in foil and freeze it.  I thaw a package out when I want bacon.  If there is any left over, I re-wrap and re-freeze it.  Works just fine.

Bacon is like Twinkies dude, it doesn't have an expiration date.

Sprinkle bacon bits on bacon, go back in time, buy less more bacon.  Problem solved, deliciously.

One casualty of the windstorm last week was the pound of bacon that went bad.

twinkies do in fact have an expiration date.

however, eating an expired twinkie probably wont lead to the same problems eating expired bacon might.

ETA: the recipe for twinkies actually varies depending on regional climate and season. learned that from the history channel in between their nazi doccumentaries

I keep my bacon in the freezer, if I want to cut some up for frying it cuts much easier when frozen.

LOL...I knew the bacon eaters would come out of the woodwork for this one.

The back story is that this is my second package of bacon in two weeks time. The first package is from a farm market where I bought several very delicious  home grown tomatoes. That package sucked and was incredibly greasy. Like two slices made at least 1/4" grease in my cast iron skillet while cooking. I ended up eating it as I hate to waste food. I still had tomatoes left, so I bought a new package of my normal stuff this week. After opening, I decided it wasn't prudent to down another package of bacon so quickly.

Umm.. it's bacon.  It is suppossed to be greasy.  You can do fantastic things with leftover grease.  Like: season or re-season your cast iron pans, spread it on toast, fry other foods in it, add it to baked goods, use as a fire starter, grease a pig (irony?), hair conditioner.  Embrace the bacon and the grease that comes with it.

I had this wad of cash but I went to spend it and it had way too many zeros after the ones so I went the ATM and took some more cash out but decided it would not be prudent to spend this wad so near spending the other
